Side feeding system
The THEYSOHN side feeding system TSD is a side stuffing facility comprising of two co-rotating intermeshing screws. Side feeding enables a high loading of filler or additive into the compounder which can be either granulate, powder or fibre materials. The assembly can be positioned at any side feeding barrel processing section.
The key features of the side feeder are:
- Gear train comprising of a frequency controlled gear motor
- Process section featuring a cooled cylinder
- Stainless steel feed chute
- Easy moveable frame
Cooling unit
The cooling unit assures that the processing sections have the optimal set temperatures. The individual barrel sections are cooled by water flowing through internal cooling bores and controlled by magnetic valves. A non-return valve ensures the correct direction of flow.
The key components of the cooling unit are cooling water pump, the heat exchanger and the storage tank. These units are linked via piping to the compounder. The circulating medium is demineralised water. Top-up of the cooling water can be done manually when alerted by the control system via a minimum level switch. The cooling unit is on wheels making it easy to manoeuvre.
