Barrel Sections and Screw Shafts
Extruder-Komponenten Salzgitter supplies barrel sections and screw shafts incorporated into compounders. The standard barrel design is comprised of steel that has been subjected to in-depth nitriding.
Theysohn barrel sections optionally have exchangeable liners which are made out of through hardened special steel. Thus, they are highly abrasion resistant. This makes them ideal when processing plastics that include abrasive additives. In environments characterized by corrosion produced abrasion, sleeves made out of thorough-hardened, rust and acid-proof steels are used. Ultra-abrasive operations employ HIP’ed barrels manufactured using powder metal materials.
Screw shafts made from quenched and tempered steel assure the reliable transmission of the required torque.
